I
am the middle of three girls . . . and the black sheep.
Ever since I can remember, I’ve enjoyed designing and creating
things. I started beading at age 7 and sewing at 10. In high school,
I moved on to working with metal and received my Bachelor of Fine Arts
in Metalsmithing and Jewelry from Northern Arizona University.
Fresh out of college, I moved to Austin, Texas,
to start my adult life. After five years and several jobs that didn’t
quite fit, I took a two year hiatus in Aspen. When I moved back to
Austin this past spring, I knew I was finally “home”; now
I just had to figure out what to do with myself.
I have always wanted to make a living using my
creative talents. My mom and older sister mentioned custom embroidery
to me, and I started noticing it everywhere: some good and a lot not
so good. I finally found something that could put my background in
fine arts and creative eye to use in a mainstream way. I decided to
focus on custom and personalized gifts while keeping a fun, artistic
edge to my product.
